DLS 6500 VDSL
DSLAM Production Tester ETSI or ANSI
The DLS 6500 series was designed as a low cost solution
to test VDSL DSLAM, multiple port Ethernet First Mile-Copper (EFM-Copper
IEEE 802.3ah) access systems or other wide bandwidth access equipment
requiring simulation of North American (ANSI) and European (ETSI)
copper lines within a manufacturing test environment. The DLS 6500
series simulates attenuation (insertion loss) and return loss for
up to 24 copper lines of either 26 AWG (DLS -6526) or TP100 (DLS-6510)
. The DLS 6500 has a compact 1U 19 inch rack mountable form factor,
allowing up to 96 VDSL DSLAM ports to be tested in less than 4U,
a major advantage in space constrained production test stations.
Remote user control of the DLS 6500 is achieved via an RS-232 serial
port, which allows for a Spirent provided GUI or remote computer
based automated testing.
Configuration
The DLS 6500 is available in a NA 26 AWG version, DLS
6526, and a European TP100 version, DLS 6510. Both configurations
simulate 0 reach loopback and also loop reach in convenient switchable
steps, for each line of simulated twisted pair. The DLS 6500 series
offers the bandwidth required for VDSL & EFM-Copper technologies
and provides a smooth response from DC to 16 MHz
Bi-directional Signaling&
Full Bandwidth
The DLS 6500 uses passive components (R, L, C), which
allows the signal's full bandwidth to be passed in both directions
simultaneously, just like real cable. The DLS 6500 reproduces both
the insertion loss and return loss and thus enables proper termination
for your high bandwidth (e.g. VDSL) DSLAM device. Hence, the DLS
6500 provides accurate testing for all your VDSL production applications.
The DLS 6500 offers DC-16 MHz of useable simulation bandwidth and
a maximum of 50 Vp-p max (DC plus AC) between Tip & Ring. The
DLS 6500 may be used to test a variety of local loop remote access
products, including VDSL DSLAMs, CPE modems, gateway devices, NIDs,
and any high bandwidth copper access devices
DLS 6500 Simulation Features
- Passive line simulation components (R,
L & C) provide for low noise simulation
- Accurate attenuation and return loss
in convenient steps
- Up to 24 individually controllable wirelines
of either 26 AWG or Tp100
- 1U 19 inch rack mount ideal for high
density production testing
- Rear mounted RJ-45 connectors minimize
crosstalk
- Remote control , via RS 232 using SCPI
based commands, provides user full flexibility and commonality
with other DLS production systems
- High unit to unit repeatability - no
need to field tune each unit
- Allow for fast and time saving automated
testing for CPE or DSLAMs
