Complete QoS test capabilities for DSLAMs now enabled – only through
Spirent’s DSLAM testing solution!
DSL Service providers are looking to extend their service
offering beyond basic high speed internet services by offering packages
targeting the 'Triple-Play' of voice, video and internet as well
as other applications such as video conferencing, tele-medicine,
gaming etc. Unlike today's best effort Internet service, these services
all require QoS guarantees. These new service offerings will require
significant enhancements to DSLAM technology. This in turn requires
that Triple-Play DSLAMs be tested thoroughly to ensure their performance
once deployed.
The mAX SLAM 12 port ADSL2+ CPE Interface Module for
the AX/4000 provides a direct connection to the DSLAM via twisted
pair copper interfaces enabling complete QoS test capabilities,
which until now have been impossible.
The mAX SLAM Solution replaces rooms full of CPE, cabling
and associated support requirements and provides testing capabilities
beyond normal modems to support Triple-play DSLAM testing.
Spirent Communications provides the world’s first DSLAM
testing solution that provides a direct connection to the DSLAM
via twisted pair copper interfaces enabling complete QoS test capabilities.
mAX SLAM is part of Spirent's Integrated Triple Play
Testing solutions.
Primary Applications
●mAX SLAM is the world’s first solution for testing
Triple Play DSLAMs
●mAX SLAM incorporates Spirent’s industry-leading AX/4000 Layer
3 testing with high density ●ADSL/ADSL2 and ADSL2+/POTS or ISDN
multi-port interfaces
●Test DSLAMs with 24 to 12,000 ports of Triple Play traffic
●Generate and analyze traffic based on real-world scenarios
●Test performance of Triple-Play enabled DSLAMs
●Test control and data plane performance of integrated BRAS capability
●Validate performance of next generation services like voice & video
●Verify DSLAM capacity, QoS and data integrity at line rate
Benefits
●Simplify lab setup and control with one 12-port mAX
SLAM Interface module now taking the same space as a single modem
●Configurable to all North American and European ADSL, ADSL2 and
ADSL2+ operating modes.
●Mix and match mAX SLAM modules to meet DSLAM testing requirements
●Provides direct connection to DSLAM eliminating uncertainty caused
by using black box modems
●Allow engineers to focus on results not configuring and maintaining
complicated test systems
●Quickly configure and test QoS and performance with multiple service
levels of Triple Play traffic
Key Features
●Two interface variants, ADSL2+/POTS or ADSL2+/ISDN
●12 (ADSL/ADSL2/ALDS2+) ports per mAX SLAM card
●Each mAX SLAM ADSL2+ port emulates the behavior of customer premise
equipment
● High density design
●Generate and analyze Triple Play traffic
●Supports IGMP control data plane traffic
●PPPoX functional and performance testing
●Support IP and ATM QoS
●Accurate latency and jitter measurements
●Throughput testing
